BEARTHCO is a non-profit business dedicated to addressing houselessness, strengthening community, and protecting the earth. We believe that meaningful change requires both vision and collaboration, with every action guided by compassion, responsibility, and integrity.

Founded on January 18, 2023, by Joshua T. Bear (Sacred Dancing Bear / ᑮᒋᐦᑢᐊ ᐍᐢᐏᐣ ᓀᒥᑐᐏᐣ ᒥᐢᑵ / Kîcihtâw Wîswin Nêmitowin Maskwa), BEARTHCO was born from a simple but powerful idea: that we can build a better world by helping people, caring for the planet, and inspiring collective action.

Raised on the Ochapowace First Nation and currently pursuing a Finance degree at the First Nations University of Canada, Joshua serves as Founder and Chief Visionary Officer (CVO) of BEARTHCO. He is supported by a Board of Directors (5), who advise and guide the organization’s direction. While the board provides wisdom and governance, Joshua remains the visionary behind BEARTHCO, shaping its mission and inspiring its path forward.

Our logo represents this vision: a Bear, covered in the skin of the Earth, with bandages to symbolize the harm our planet has endured — yet still smiling, resilient, and hopeful for a better way forward.
